Jambe emerged from a strip of bark found on the side of a cedar tree in the heart of Domaine Carling, a peaceful forest haven owned by the artist. Like the human leg, it is long and slender, vulnerable yet powerful. Beneath its frail appearance teems an unimaginable source of strength. Flexed, elongated, but perfectly balanced, it stands tall, proud and unyielding – a lone figure in a sea of torment. Battered, bruised, but not broken. Its silent message rings out loud and clear: nothing is impossible, nothing is beyond reach.
